Red Veins

Would you like to reduce the visibility of red veins on the face?

Be rid of embarrassing broken veins on the legs?

The effect of red veins on a fair skin is often a cause of embarrassment as they give an appearance of redness and an uneven complexion. They are quite a common problem and mainly affect the face but also appear as broken leg vessels.

Many people have these small broken blood vessels. Areas around the nose, on the cheeks or the chin being the most common areas where small blood vessels in the skin become visible.

The symptoms of red veins can be controlled with treatments such as IPL (intense pulsed light) and laser treatments.

Laser treatment on red veins works by emitting filtered light which is readily absorbed by blood vessel, this heats them to point where they are destroyed. During treatment a thin layer of chilled gel is applied to the skin to aid light absorption by the vessels. The light is then pulsed over the entire area to be treated. The chilled gel is removed and the area cooled. During the treatment, protective eye wear will be worn.

Treatment is relatively quick and can be just 20 minutes for cheeks. Our consultant will advise you at your initial consultation on how many treatments you need for your particular requirements.

Treatment can be describes as only mildly uncomfortable and there is no need for anesthesia and the procedure is actually quite quick. Sensations vary but most people describe it as a very quick, hot pin prick. We provide plenty of cooling throughout and after the treatment to reduce any discomfort.
